Creating a Project

Step-by-Step Guide

Navigate to Projects
Click on Projects in the main navigation menu. You'll see a list of all your existing projects.

Click New Project
Look for the "New Project" button in the top right corner and click it to open the project creation form.

Fill in Project Details
Project Name:
Choose a clear, descriptive name that makes it easy to identify on timesheets (e.g., "Acme Corp - Website Redesign")
Billing Rate:
Default rate comes from Settings → Billing & VAT, and currency comes from Settings → Organization. You can override a project rate later using the Edit action.

Save Your Project
Click "Create" to save. Your new project will immediately be available for timesheet entries.
Project Fields Explained
- Billable by default: Marks new entries as billable for utilization and invoicing.
- Hourly rate: Overrides the organization default rate for this project only.
- Currency: Used for project pricing, budgets, and invoice totals.
- Cost rate: Internal cost per hour used in profitability reports.
- Budget hours: Planned hours before the project shows as over budget.
- Budget amount: Total budget in the selected currency.
Best Practices
- Use consistent naming conventions across similar projects
- Include the client name in the project title for easy identification
- Review and update project names as contracts change
- Track billing rates in Settings → Billing & VAT

Time-saving tip: You can edit project details anytime from the Projects page without affecting historical timesheet entries or invoices.

Projects are shared across the organization. Assign work by selecting the right project on your timesheet.
